Mr Goh Shou Yi

Shou Yi was twelve when his mother unconventionally sent him for ballet to cure his restlessness. Since then, he has completed his full-time dance education (Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance & Diploma in Dance) at State University of New York (SUNY) Purchase College Conservatory of Dance and Nanyang Academy of Fine Arts (NAFA) Dance Department with full scholarships awarded by the National Arts Council, Singapore. Shou Yi was selected by Lianhe Zaobao as a "rising star to watch” (2015 艺术新星-照耀未来星空, 1 Jan 2015) in 2015. Currently, an adjunct lecturer with NAFA School of Dance, Shou Yi is also an associate artist with The Human Expression (T.H.E) Second Company, where he has been actively collaborating with both local and international artists to create and present dance choreographies and performances. Beyond dance, Shou Yi further took on the role of a collaborator in The Orange Playground (2016) led by Haresh Sharma with The Necessary Stage (TNS), as well as in the 1 Table 2 Chairs Experimental Series (2017) presented by The Theatre Practice, Singapore. He was also a movement choreographer for PRISM (2017) by Toy Factory & The Year of No Return (2021) by TNS. Shou Yi has also given classes/workshops with Damansara Performing Arts Centre in Malaysia, Playact Studio & Srinakharinwirot University in Bangkok, M1 Contact Contemporary Dance Festival, Lasalle School of Dance, T.H.E Second Company and Pulse Programme of Frontier Danceland in Singapore. He also teaches and have taught at Raffles Institution, Anderson Serangoon Junior College and St. Margaret’s Secondary School, amongst others.

Mr Marcus Foo

Born and trained in Singapore, Marcus started his formal dance training at LASALLE College of the Arts and graduated in 2004. As a dancer, Marcus has performed with the LADC Performance Company, John Mead Dance Company, SAF Music and Drama Company (MDC), Creative Productions Group (CPG) and T.H.E Second Company.

As a choreographer, Marcus has created for Dance in Situ 2017 (Singapore) and T.H.E 2nd Company for their annual platform liTHE from 2013-14 and 2017-2019. International collaborative works include BIENNALE des DANSES des SEYCHELLES with Parisian dancer Jimmy Vairon, Seoul Performing Arts Festival with Korean dancer Jin Byoung Cheol and DANCE-PORT TOKYO 2018 with Daisuke Inoue and Lee Sang Hyun, winners of Yokohama Dance Collection and Seoul Dance Collection.

As a dance teacher, Marcus has taught technique classes for Republic Polytechnic, Le Grande School of Dance, Nanyang Technological University, Ngee Ann Polytechnic, National Junior College and LASALLE College of the Arts. He has guest choreographed for various dance institutions such as NUS Dance Ensemble THE NEXT WAVE and School Of the Arts BECOMING.

In 2017, Marcus completed his postgraduate studies at LCDS and graduated with a Master of Arts degree with Distinction from the University of Kent at Canterbury, UK. Shortly after, he completed his 200hr Yoga Teacher Training at Yoga Movement Academy (Singapore) validated by Yoga Alliance, the international standard for Yoga Teacher Training.

Marcus is currently an associate artist of T.H.E Second Company (Singapore).
