Site-specific Dance Piece by Chiew Peishan*

We are glad to be able to invite Chiew Peishan as a guest choreographer for BREATH 2023. She will be creating a Site-specific Dance Piece that will be performed in various sites around Bukit Merah Town Centre (166 Bukit Merah Central, Singapore 150166, located near Gateway Theatre) as a pre-show for BREATH 2023.

What is Site-specific Dance?

Site-specific performance generally refers to works created in response to and performed within a specific site. Instead of creating the work in a studio and placing it on a theatre stage, alternative spaces are used to shape and inform the movement, spacing, theme, costuming, music, etc. for a performance.

What are the Potential Sites that Dancers will be working in?

What is the level of commitment to participate in the Site-specific Piece?

3hrs of rehearsals per week spanning over 14 weeks (starting from week of 14 August 2023), as per scheduled by choreographer and agreed upon by students who will be participating in the piece (rehearsal schedule to be confirmed depending on interest, please refer to the form below).
