Biography

Ms Ivy Ng started dancing at the age of 5, with Major in Classical Ballet. She was enrolled into Viana Music and Ballet Academy (Malaysia) and completed the Royal Academy of Dancing (RAD, UK) Classical Ballet Grades 1- 8 and major level-Intermediate. Besides the long years of dance training, she was part of the “Batu Dance Theatre” in Malaysia (2003), performing in several choreographies, e.g. “I U Night” (1998). Others were with “Viana Music and Ballet Academy” from 1998 – 2002 and “Ti ING”(2003).

Later on, Ivy’s passion for dancing has led her to join Nanyang Academy of Fine Art (NAFA Singapore) Dance Diploma in 2004. In this diploma, she had studied many dance styles in depth, such as Contemporary, Jazz and Ethic Dances. As part of this programme, she was also actively involved in various of dance performances e.g Chinese Culture Festival “Urban Tapestry”, Graduation Show Year 2006 “Revota”, “Aspirations Da:ns Festival in Esplanade Singapore and Bangkok, etc. Not only she had brought back her vast performance experiences, Ivy was given opportunities in choreographing various dance pieces such as “Trinity” (dancers@workinNAFA) and “Nostalgia.

After graduation in 2007, Ivy joined Dancepointe Singapore as a Classical Ballet Teacher. She has taught in numerous dance enrichment programs and dances CCA in schools such as Gan Eng Seng Secondary School, Pasir Ris Crest Secondary School, St Theresa Secondary School and Zhen Hua Primary School. To further enhance her teaching standards, Ivy was part of People’s Association, as a dancer in Modern Contemporary, which brought her to more dance exposures such as “Soundwave 2007-Singapore” and “16th Asean Summit 2007”.

Ivy had obtained the highest RAD Vocational Graded – Advanced 2, under our Dancepointe founder, Ms Lena Foo. For certifications in Jazz, she had completed the ATODI Jazz Gold Star level. Ivy has also attained 2nd place for Commonwealth Society of Teachers of Dancing (CSTD) and Get The Beat (GTB) competition in 2018 and 1st and 2nd place for GTB 2019 and CSTD 2019 respectively. 

Ms Ivy Ng was among the rest who had received the Dancepointe RAD CBTS Sponsorship. She had completed her Royal Academy of Dance Certificate in Ballet Teaching Studies (RAD CBTS), under the tutelage of Ms Lena Foo. She is appointed as a Registered Teacher of the RAD.  We thank her for her contributions to DPA for the past 12 years.
