Biography

Ms Elly Koman began her dance training at the age of 3 at Princess Ballet School Medan, Indonesia. She completed the Royal Academy of Dance (RAD) Classical Ballet Pre-primary to Grade 8 and the Royal Vocational Graded Intermediate Foundation to Advanced 2 at the age of 17.

 

Elly had been teaching for 5 years in Singapore, for children ballet classes. Being an outstanding student, she had many achievements such as “ Most Improve Student in 2005 and Most Outstanding Student in 2007 RAD Summer School Jakarta and Encouragement Award in 2014 CSTD Summer School, Jakarta.” Not only in ballet, Elly also has various achievements in modern dance competitions. Her team won 1st place at the provincial-level “Modern Dance Competition held by Development Basketball League (DBL) Medan, Indonesia” in 2010 and 2011.

Elly’s passion for dancing has led her to join Nanyang Academy of Fine Art (NAFA) Diploma in Dance in 2012 with Tuition Grand (Bond) from MOE Singapore. In this diploma, she had studied many dance styles, such as Contemporary, Ethnic Dance and Ballroom dance. As part of this programme, she was involved in various dance performance e.g “Still Waters Run Deep” NAFA 75th Anniversary 2013, Crossings 2015, etc.

Elly had joined Dancepointe since 2018. In addition, She is also part of TEAMdpa as an assistant teacher since 2019 and also a choreographer for solo additional items for competitions.
